Within the framework of the project “Green Industrial Recovery in Ukraine through Community-Level Development”, implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) with the support of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), a tailored training programme was organized for the Association of Water Utilities of Ukraine.
The purpose of the training is to strengthen the capacity of water utility professionals through knowledge exchange and practical experience in the field of energy efficiency – a critical element for Ukraine’s green reconstruction and sustainable recovery.
On July 16, 2025, a representative of the UKRIEE project “Introduction of Energy Management System Standard in Ukrainian Industry” took part in Session 3 of the training programme – a webinar titled “Implementing Energy Management According to ISO 50001.”
During the presentation, the UKRIEE representative outlined the current status of ISO 50000 series standard implementation in Ukraine and shared UNIDO’s insights and experience in the field of energy management.
This event represents an important step towards strengthening the institutional capacity of the water supply and sanitation sector, contributing to improved energy efficiency at the local level.
