On the 8th of June, 2023, the meeting of the UNIDO/GEF UKR IEE Project: “Introduction of Energy Management System Standard in Ukrainian Industry” with the Scientific Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management (ES IEE) of the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI) named after Igor Sikorsky took place.
Alexey Paschenko, National Project Coordinator of the UKR IEE Project and Evgenij Inshekov, National Training Coordinator and Expert on Standardisation met with Oksana Vovk, Director of the Scientific Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management (ES IEE) of the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI) named after Igor Sikorsky and Anatolii Chernyavskyi, Director of the Training Center for Energy Management (TCEM) to discuss the areas of possible cooperation between ES IEE and UNIDO/GEF UKR IEE Project.
Alexey Paschenko, National Project Coordinator of the UKR IEE Project, has provided an update about the UKR IEE project, up-to-date project results and achievements, and remaining objectives and activities. The project is almost at the final stage. The results include:
– Ukraine has adopted all international EnMS and EE standards published before 2019 (15 standards).
– Ukraine has national experts for EnMS implementation, nationally accredited certification bodies, and lead auditors of the EnMS according to ISO 50001.
The above was done with overwhelming support from the project side: methodological, technical, expertise and financial.
The remaining project activities are mainly focused on the development of the already launched Loan Guarantee Fund (LGF), the development of the Voluntary Agreement Scheme in Ukraine, and some support to the Government of Ukraine and industries.
Oksana Vovk, Director of the Scientific Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management (ES IEE), informed about the current achievements and plans of the Scientific Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management (ES IEE) of the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI) named after Igor Sikorsky.
As a result of the meeting ways of intensifying cooperation between UNIDO and the Training Center for Energy Management of the Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management of KPI named after Igor Sikorsky were outlined.
The Director of the TCEM, Anatolii Chernyavskyi, proposed to include UNIDO educational materials in the Training Programs and to expand the educational services package of the Training Center for Energy Management.
