The UNIDO/GEF UKR IEE Project: “Introduction of Energy Management System Standard in Ukrainian Industry” helps Ukraine transition to energy management systems according to international standards. Thanks to the training program introduced by the project, the team of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine (SAEE) deepened its knowledge and qualifications in energy management issues.

“Implementation of an energy management system is an investment in the energy security of all: authorities, communities, enterprises” – this was emphasized by SAEE Head Anna Zamazeeva, speaking at the round table “Implementation of energy management systems in authorities and enterprises: basics, advantages and real successes” in IA Ukrinform.

The head explained that the path to energy efficiency begins with energy management – intelligent management of energy consumption. In times of war and energy challenges, this is quite relevant for everyone – authorities, communities, enterprises.

“Implementation of the energy management system makes it possible to save 5-15% on utility costs, and after a set of energy-efficient measures – up to 30% and even more. These are significant savings that can be directed to support the population and the Armed Forces,” the SAEE Head Anna Zamazeeva emphasized.

According to the current legislation, namely, in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Energy Efficiency”, all state authorities must implement an energy management system. “It is also mandatory for those who want to receive state support, for example, under the programs of the Decarbonization Fund,” added the Head.

The UNIDO/GEF UKR IEE Project “Introduction of Energy Management System Standard in Ukrainian Industry” conducted a number of trainings, which contributed to the deepening of knowledge and qualifications in energy management issues, in particular the SAEE team.

The State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine provides permanent advisory and methodical assistance to authorities and their subordinate enterprises, organizations and institutions regarding the implementation of energy management systems.
