The training will focus on introduction of the concept of Energy Management Systems (EnMS) and general explanation on how implementation of EnMS can be attractive for financing. It will provide an overview of energy efficiency issues and opportunities relevant for FIs as well as barriers and benefits of financing industrial energy efficiency improvements for FIs’ clients, especially in terms of making the decision about loan issuance.

Decision on providing this training was made as a reasonable step forward to facilitation of capacity building on Energy Management Systems in the Ukrainian financial sector. It is also a response on involving the financial sector to participating and promoting implementation of Energy Management Systems in Ukrainian Industry following a number of Project’s successful workshops and trainings for energy managers and experts, who are responsible for energy consumption of the industrial enterprises. Therefore, bankers, financial advisers, consultants and representatives of Financial Institutions (FIs) are highly welcomed to take part at this workshop. The registered and selected participants will be informed about the venue and agenda of the event.

UNIDO believes the FI EnMS training will be a valuable input to increasing the financial sector awareness about opportunities for capital provision for financing industrial energy efficiency, and particularly implementation of EnMS and energy systems optimization measures.
