The main purpose of National Dialogue was to bring together government ministries and agencies, non-governmental/civil society organizations, communities, academic and research institutions and the private sector, as well as partners and donors.
National Dialogue provided the means for a broad range of stakeholders within a country to come together learn, discuss and agree, or take steps toward agreement, on environmental issues across the board.
The main objectives of the Ukrainian GEF National Dialogue were the following:
- to raise awareness about GEF activities;
- to strengthen the GEF national coordination mechanism through exchange of ideas and best practices;
- to review new GEF-7 policy;
- projects in the framework of GEF-6;
- project proposals from Implement Agencies in the framework of GEF-7.
