In previous years, the managers and engineers of Astarta’s sugar plants and other leading enterprises in Ukraine have undergone Energy Management System (EnMS) training. Five enterprises have implemented EnMS according to the ISO 50001 standard and obtained compliance certificates.
Currently, the UKR IEE Project continues to provide support to enterprises and companies striving to become energy efficient. At present, the project is supporting the Astarta-Kyiv Agro-Industrial Holding in implementing an EnMS in accordance with ISO 50001 at the group level. As part of this initiative, low-cost measures for optimizing energy-consuming systems will also be identified.
The project’s support for Astarta’s energy efficiency efforts includes training three groups of stakeholders, namely top management, EnMS implementation experts from among employees, and internal EnMS auditors.
At this stage, the UKR IEE project has initiated EnMS training for Astarta-Kyiv agro-industrial holding’s top management. The first training session took place on February 5, 2025, and the final module will be held on February 20, 2025. A total of 53 executives have been enrolled in the training.
From February 11 to 13, 2025, training sessions on “Creating an Energy Management System: Module 1 – Introduction and Commitment. Expert Level” were conducted, with 45 employees of the agro-industrial holding participating in accordance with the training order.
Three additional training sessions have been scheduled:
- “Creating an Energy Management System: Module 2 – Planning. Expert Level”
- “Creating an Energy Management System: Module 3 – Implementation. Expert Level”
- “Creating an Energy Management System: Module 4 – Improvement. Expert Level”
While participating in these training sessions, Astarta employees are simultaneously implementing EnMS at their enterprises.
Additionally, training for internal EnMS auditors is underway, with the theoretical part completed on February 18–19, 2025. A total of 49 participants attended.
