On October 6, 2022, the second International Sustainability Forum will be held in Kyiv, within the framework of which “Recommendations for the transition to a green economy in the face of global challenges” will be developed and presented.

International Sustainability Forum is an annual international forum on sustainable development, the purpose of which is to create a culture of sustainability in society.

The main goal is to create a regional sustainable business ecosystem for the recovery and development of the economy based on the principles of sustainability for the transition to a green economy and a sustainable civil society.

Event organizers: Association of Sustainable Development Experts (ASDE).

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is the event’s development partner.

The event will be attended by: top officials of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, the National Bank of Ukraine, the Embassies of Germany and the Netherlands, members of the German Bundestag, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, international financial companies (IFC), UNIDO, UNDP, GIZ, business representatives and public leaders in the field of sustainable development, the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).

Contents of discussion panels:

Panel 1: How can policymakers and regulators ensure recovery?

  • Searching for ways to restore Ukraine based on the principles of sustainability through discussion.
  • Formation of a partnership ecosystem for the transition to a green economy and a sustainable civil society.

Panel 2: What should corporate governance do to address global threats?

  • Advice on managing during crises and finding opportunities for development on the example of leading companies.

Panel 3: How can Ukrainian business turn the environmental and social risks brought by the war into new financing opportunities?

  • Presentation of ways of transition of the banking system to a green economy.
  • Presentation of financial opportunities in the conditions of war from investors and international donors.

Panel 4: Is there any chance for green economy transition via sustainable recovery in the new geopolitical reality?

  • Discussing the transformation of ESG concepts and values ​​under the threat of global challenges in the new geopolitical reality.

Serhiy Porovskyy, Energy Efficiency Financing and Policy Expert of the UNIDO/GEF UKR IEE Project will take part in the forum as a speaker of the event.
