Improving energy efficiency is a necessary element for increasing the country’s energy independence and reducing the energy intensity of the economy. Now the indicator of GDP energy intensity in terms of purchasing power parity in Ukraine is three times higher than in most European countries.

The Draft Law of Ukraine “On Energy Efficiency” provides for the establishment of the legal, economic and organizational framework for activities in the field of energy efficiency, ensuring the implementation of energy efficient measures during the production, transportation, transmission, distribution, supply and consumption of energy. This Draft Law is aimed at fulfilling Ukraine’s international obligations under the Treaty on the Establishment of the Energy Community.
