During the first meeting of the sectoral working group, the regulations were approved and two working subgroups were created – “Energy efficient buildings” and “Reform of central heating”. George Cristodorescu and Vasyl Lozynsky, Head of the Energy Efficiency and Climate Protection Sector of GIZ, were elected as Co-Chairs of the Energy Efficient Buildings subgroup. The second working subgroup is headed by Natalia Khotsianivska and Ima Khrenova-Shymkina.
The main task of the sectoral working group is to coordinate joint efforts of the state with international partners and development partners aimed at implementing joint priorities, comprehensively solving problems in certain areas, and agreeing on joint areas of cooperation within the framework of International Technical Assistance (ITA) projects.
The participants of the meeting discussed the implementation of the goals defined in the National Economic Strategy of Ukraine for the period until 2030 and the priorities identified by the Ministry of Regional Development, which, in particular, provide for an increase in the level of energy efficiency and the implementation of an effective state policy aimed at reliable provision of consumers with high-quality heat supply services.
The meeting was attended by Anka Feldguzen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ukraine, Oleksiy Chernyshov. Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, Vasily Lozinsky, First Deputy Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, Igor Korkhov, Deputy Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, Natalia Khotsyanovskaya, Deputy Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, Lisbeth Müller-Hofstede, Senior Policy Officer for Economic Cooperation and Development, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Kyiv, representatives of the project “Promoting Energy Efficiency and Implementation of the EU Energy Efficiency Directive in Ukraine”, Serhiy Porovskyy, Energy Efficiency Financing and Policy Expert for the UNIDO / GEF UKR IEE Project and over 80 development partners focused on energy efficiency and heating.
